Cocktail Bartender / Wait Staff at Traditional Japanese Dining

About the Role:

Azuma is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Bartender / Section Wait Staff to join our team. The ideal candidates will be adaptable, reliable, and have a genuine passion for delivering memorable experiences to our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Beverage Preparation: Mix and serve alcoholic & non-alcoholic drinks, create cocktails, and garnish drinks.
  • Exceptional Service: Deliver warm, attentive service while always maintaining professionalism and a friendly demeanour.
  • Menu & Beverage Knowledge: Confidently recommend dishes and wine pairings, with a strong understanding of Japanese cuisine and beverage offerings.
  • Dietary Awareness: Stay informed about food allergies and dietary requirements, ensuring guest safety and satisfaction.
  • Sales & Upselling: Inform customers about specials, suggest items, and process payments accurately. Assist in creating new cocktails or specials.
  • Inventory & Stocking: Monitor liquor levels, restock supplies, and manage bar inventory.
  • Bar Maintenance: Clean glassware, utensils, and the bar area, prepare garnishes, and maintain organization.

About You:

  • Minimum 1 years of experience in similar job role within a fine dining or high-end hospitality environment is preferable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with a calm and professional demeanour under pressure.
  • Availability to work evenings from Tuesday to Saturdays.
  • An understanding of Japanese language and culture is preferred, particularly in the context of hospitality service.
  • We welcome applications from candidates who are interested in working in a traditional Japanese fine dining restaurant located in the CBD.
