This position is responsible for translating complex clinical documentation into standardized codes that comply with regulatory requirements and support optimal reimbursement. The Coding Analyst collaborates closely with healthcare providers, billing teams, and compliance officers to maintain data integrity and facilitate smooth revenue cycle operations. By meticulously reviewing patient records and applying coding guidelines, the analyst helps minimize claim denials and supports quality reporting initiatives. Ultimately, this role contributes to the financial health of the surgery center while upholding the highest standards of coding accuracy and compliance. Minimum Qualifications: * Associate’s degree in Health Information Management, Medical Coding, or a related field. * Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) credential. * Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical coding, preferably in an orthopedic or surgical setting. * Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems. * Familiarity with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and CMS guidelines. Preferred Qualifications: * Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or related discipline. * Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and coding software. * Knowledge of orthopedic surgery procedures and terminology. * Experience working in a surgery center or hospital outpatient setting. * Additional certifications such as Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC) or Certified Outpatient Coder (COC).
