JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Auditor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing medical records to ensure compliance with established standards and regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding, and billing processes, as well as the ability to work collaboratively within a medical office environment.

EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience in medical auditing, coding, or billing is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of medical records management and familiarity with various coding systems (ICD-9, DRG).
  • Experience working in a medical office environment is highly desirable.
  • Proficient understanding of medical terminology and its application in documentation.
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with healthcare professionals.

  • Conduct thorough audits of medical records to verify accuracy and compliance with ICD-9 coding standards.
  • Review documentation for appropriate DRG assignment and ensure proper medical collection practices are followed.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify discrepancies in medical records and coding.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems, and billing regulations.
  • Prepare detailed reports on audit findings, including recommendations for improvement.
  • Assist in training staff on proper coding practices and documentation requirements.
  • Ensure that all audits are completed in a timely manner while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
