What You’ll Do: Identify, research, and resolve issues that impede the successful posting of clinical charges Posts charges in Epic per the Coding rules and conventions. Review charge documents for completeness and return incomplete documents to the source. Maintain confidentiality of all patient demographics and medical and financial information at all times. Uphold Medicare, Medicaid, and HIPAA compliance guidelines in relation to billing, collections, and PHI information. Employees are expected to report to work as scheduled, participate in all assigned meetings, and meet established performance and accountability standards. Other duties as assigned. The listed essential functions are not necessarily exhaustive and may be revised by the employer at its sole discretion. Qualifications: High School diploma or General Education Diploma (GED). Graduate of a medical coding program is preferred Minimum six months experience in healthcare coding or billing Experience with a healthcare practice management system FQHC Billing or Coding Experience and Epic system experience Is preferred. CPC (Certified Professional Coder) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification preferred. Ability to use and understand billing coding books and guides. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Knowledge of medical/dental terminology, data entry, and billing coding is preferred. Knowledge of accounts receivable processes is preferred. Maintain consistent performance and attendance standards Effective verbal, written, and listening communication skills are essential.
