Description We are seeking a passionate and mission-driven Coffee House Manager to lead the daily operations of the Upper Room coffee house, a space designed to serve excellent coffee and delicious simple bakery items and create a welcoming environment that fosters community, conversation, and faith. This role combines the responsibilities of managing a café with supporting the Catholic identity and ministry goals of the space. Requirements Operations & Customer Service Oversee daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and vendor relations Ensure high-quality customer service and maintain a clean, inviting atmosphere Develop and implement efficient workflows for baristas, bakers and all support staff Manage the point-of-sale system and ensure accurate financial reporting Staff Management Solicit for volunteers, train, and schedule baristas and staff with attention to both hospitality and mission alignment and the use of their gifts. Cross train staff for more flexibility in scheduling. Lead occasional volunteer staff meetings and foster a culture of service, hospitality, gratitude and teamwork Provide ongoing support and encouragement for team members Mission Integration Ensure that the Upper Room reflects Catholic values in both atmosphere and programming. Collaborate with parish staff or ministry leaders to host events such as Bible studies, Theology on Tap, or community outreach Qualifications: Strong personal commitment to the Catholic faith and understanding of Catholic culture and values 2+ years of experience in food service or café management preferred Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills Ability to lead with hospitality and a service mindset Basic understanding of budgeting, inventory management, and scheduling Flexible schedule, including some evenings or weekends for events
