CONSULTANT OPPORTUNITY – COGNITIVE PSYCHOLOGIST / COGNITIVE SCIENTIST

Lead the creation of a cognitive assessment battery, leveraging validated cognitive testing methodologies and ensuring scientific rigor, clinical relevance, and user-friendly design. We are seeking a highly skilled Cognitive Psychologist, Cognitive Scientist, or related expert to develop and implement a comprehensive cognitive assessment platform. The ideal candidate will blend deep expertise in experimental psychology and psychometrics with the ability to translate cognitive constructs into reliable, engaging, and clinically meaningful digital tools.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ph.D. (or equivalent experience) in Cognitive Psychology, Experimental Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience, or a closely related field.
  • Proven track record in cognitive test development and validation.
  • Expertise with standard cognitive paradigms (CPT, N-back, Stroop, emotion recognition tasks).
  • Experience programming in open-source psychology toolkits (e.g., PsychoPy, jsPsych, Gorilla) or other relevant languages/platforms.
  • Understanding of norm-referenced scoring and psychometric standards.
  • Ability to work independently, deliver on schedule, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Clinical population experience (ADHD, anxiety, depression) preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and build of the cognitive assessment battery from concept to functional deployment.
  • Develop a computerized CPT modeled after Conners CPT 3™, with full scoring and reporting capabilities.

  • Create a comprehensive cognitive and emotional functioning battery, including:

  • Focus and attention

  • Short- and long-term memory
  • Emotional bias (e.g., negativity bias)
  • Cognitive flexibility
  • Emotion recognition (facial cues)
  • Anxiety, depression, and social-emotional domains

  • Ensure normative data collection, scoring algorithms, and psychometric validation.

  • Deliver clear, clinically relevant output reports with interpretation guides.
  • Integrate validity checks to ensure scientific and technical integrity.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as required to support the success of the project and organization.
