(2 WEEK WORKING PATTERN OF 3 DAYS THEN 4 DAYS)

An army marches on its stomach, so they say, and whilst care residents’ marching days are mostly behind them, nutrition plays just as crucial a part in staying healthy and maintaining wellbeing as it’s always done.
We are looking for a Cold Chef to support the Head Chef with effective operations of the kitchen. You will need to be a team player with strong communication skills taking charge of your assigned work areas.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • NVQ/QCF Level 3 or equivalent catering certificate
  • To hold intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate
    If you do not have the required criteria but have knowledge of a catering/kitchen service and have a genuine interest in working within a care environment, we will be happy to work with you to help you become an excellent Cook!
Responsibilities

Oversee the consistency of various preparations within the cold kitchen to ensure quality product and prepare all cold food according to recipes, guidelines and standards set by the Company.

  • To be involved with the food preparation, including taking the lead in respect of textured modified food.
  • To provide cover for the Head Chef when requested in the event of sickness and holidays.
  • Ensure assigned work area has proper levels of stock and supplies.
  • Always keep all refrigeration, equipment, storage and working areas in clean, working condition
  • Check and control the proper storage of food items including stock rotation.
  • Ensure good record keeping is in place and kept up to date.
  • Collaborate with the Manager and Wellbeing Coordinators to support with menu development and implementation of food related activities.
  • To ensure the compliance with all relevant policies, procedures and guidelines including those relating to Health and Safety, Equal Opportunities, Confidentiality of Information and Security.
  • To ensure adherence to Health and Safety guidelines and maintain safe environments and working practices.
