Engineering Technician | Elton | Permanent | Starting Salary £52,000 raising to £58,295 after probation/training package completion
39 hrs per week following a shift pattern
The Engineering Technician (Internal Job Title Cold End Technician) is a critical link between advanced technical capability and front line operational leadership. The role combines hands on experience in Cold End technology with active support and coordination of cold end performance across shifts.
Responsible for real time monitoring, fault diagnosis and root cause analysis (RCA) the Cold End Technician will lead efforts to reduce losses, enhance equipment reliability and executing proactive maintenance strategies. In addition to technical accountability, the role provides on shift supervision ensuring compliance of line controller daily duties.
The Cold End Technician also serves as the primary technical point of contact for the Cold End Team Manager supporting continuous improvement and rapid escalation when required.

THE KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Good understanding of Cold End Engineering equipment operation and high technical competence
  • Formal engineering qualification (mechanical, electrical or mechatronics) or equivalent
  • Hands on technical experience in an industrial setting
  • Ability to conduct technical fault finding and troubleshooting
  • Understanding of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (PRISMA)
  • Ability to conduct preventive and corrective maintenance execution
  • Good understanding of product quality and defect detection systems and methods
  • Ability to read and understand technical documentation and achieve SOP Compliance
  • Deliver team leadership and shift support
  • Effective Communication and Cross-Functional Colloboration
  • Support line changeovers and process adjustments
  • Display high levels of discipline, safety and quality standards
  • Understanding of spare parts handling and inventory feedback
  • Basic computer literacy
