Description This position is responsible for analyzing the collections activities of Alabama Credit Union and creating workflows to support continued improvement in collections processes. Requirements Experience: Two or more years of experience in collections, credit, or related field. Knowledge of accounting principles and financial statement analysis. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools. Experience with collection management software and databases preferred. Education: A high school education or GED. Interpersonal Skills: Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Detail-oriented and analytical individual who has a passion for numbers and problem solving with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Other Skills: Other required skills include the ability to listen to and comprehend member and co-worker needs; the ability to resolve member and co-worker problems efficiently and appropriately; self-motivation to complete job tasks to the best of personal ability, and the ability to work independently; eagerness to learn new information in a fast-paced environment, and adaptability to apply new information as appropriate; and the ability to work in a team environment, exchanging ideas and coming to consensus with individuals from other departments and geographic areas. A critical ability for success in this position is to recognize the non-personal qualities of dealing with negative situations, which will occur with inherent issues that lead to the need for collections efforts. Very strong time management skills are also necessary in order to ensure timely addressing of collections-related issues.
