Description:
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Collections Officer to assist tenants with various inquiries related to their rental properties. The ideal candidate will:
- Set up payment arrangements for past-due accounts
- Provide exceptional customer service with empathy
- Redirect inquiries to appropriate departments
- Create property issue tickets for local offices
- Explain renters insurance and basic bill breakdowns
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Empathy: Demonstrates understanding and compassion when interacting with tenants
- Professionalism: Maintains a respectful, polite, and professional attitude
- Attendance: Consistently reliable and punctual
REQUIREMENTS:
- Post-secondary education or equivalent
- Minimum age: 18
- Fluent in English with strong active listening skills
- Proficient in data entry, MS Outlook, and MS Excel
- Ability to pass a background check with valid government-issued ID
- Prior collections experience preferred
- Personal equipment requirements: wired headset, and hardwired internet connection (company-provided equipment must be picked up from our office at 1880 O’Connor Dr, North York, ON M4A 1W9 the week before starting)
Responsibilities:
- Engage with customers through inbound and outbound calls to collect outstanding bills
- Resolve account delinquencies by setting up payment arrangements or plans
- Follow up with customers via phone and email
- Adhere to portfolio policies and procedures
- Meet and exceed performance goals
- Assist customers in a fast-paced, growth-oriented contact center environment
- Maintain a customer-focused approach with a willingness to assist professionally
- Utilize excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Navigate multiple applications and demonstrate tech-savviness
- Apply strong decision-making skills and troubleshoot customer issues effectively
- Bring enthusiasm and energy to a collaborative team environment
