iA Auto Finance a fully owned subsidiary of Industrial Alliance is looking for a Collection Specialist to join our fast-growing team in the finance industry! As a collection specialist, your objective is to minimize loss and/or maximize return on auto loans through prompt and appropriate loss mitigation. Utilize strong negotiation skills and interpersonal skills, while adhering to all applicable guidelines, requirements and regulations. Maintain contact and follow-through to ensure appropriate resolution.

QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

• Minimum 1-year Collections experience or relative combination of education and industry experience
• Subprime experience is preferred
• PC Skills including but not limited to Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, etc
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Able to understand/prepare documentation, update different host systems, and maintain customer records
• Experience working in a call centre environment, familiarity with dialing platforms is an asset
• Knowledge of the automotive finance life cycle and interest in the industry is an asset
• Proficiency with loan management software is an asset
• Proven ability to work effectively in a fast paced and stressful environment
• Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize workload and meet deadlines
• Confidence in problem solving
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Strong negotiation and skip tracing skill
  Overtime is available as required. Scheduled shifts for days, evenings, and rotating Saturdays

• Make and receive collections calls to assess and resolve early and late-stage accounts
• Assess and negotiate solutions to bring accounts up to date
• Ability to de-escalate customer concerns and resolve situations
• Identify and route escalations
• Apply effective collections techniques while enriching the customer experience
• Schedule and follow up with customers to ensure that commitments are met
• Develop professional relationships with customers to promote healthy payment strategies and ensure a positive customer experience
• Ensure all assigned tasks are completed accurately and on time in a fast-paced environment
