Responsibilities

MERCHANTS NATIONAL BANK- COLLECTIONS DEPT.- IN PERSON ROLE

We are seeking a Collections Specialist to join our team and play a key role in managing the bank’s collection efforts with professionalism, strategy, and care. In this role, you will work alongside the Collections Manager, handling past-due accounts, negotiating payment plans, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and secondary market guidelines. Your ability to communicate effectively, solve problems proactively, and manage tasks efficiently will be essential in protecting the bank’s assets while maintaining strong customer relationships.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct collection calls to customers regarding past-due accounts.
  • Negotiate payment plans while maintaining positive customer relationships.
  • Monitor and report on collection activities to ensure timely resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with all secondary market collection guidelines.
  • Recommend accounts for repossession, foreclosure, replevin, and judgments when necessary.
  • Document bankruptcy filings and coordinate with legal counsel on related matters.
  • Work closely with the Collection Manager to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the collections team.
