We are looking for a dedicated Collections Specialist to join our team on a contract basis. This position is based in Houston, Texas, and is expected to last 4 to 6 weeks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in collections and accounts receivable, with the ability to manage commercial and consumer accounts effectively.

• Perform collection activities for both commercial and consumer accounts, ensuring timely payments.
• Monitor outstanding balances and follow up with clients to resolve overdue payments.
• Collaborate with billing teams to verify and reconcile discrepancies in accounts.
• Implement established collection processes to improve recovery rates and maintain accurate records.
• Assess credit risks and recommend solutions for delinquent accounts.
• Maintain clear and precise communication with clients to negotiate payment arrangements.
• Prepare detailed reports on collection activities and account statuses for management review.
• Assist in streamlining collection workflows to enhance efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies during collection activities.
• Proven experience in collections and accounts receivable, preferably in both commercial and consumer sectors.
• Strong knowledge of credit and collection processes.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies.
• Proficiency in relevant software applications for billing and collections.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to collections.
