COLLECTIONS SUPERVISOR

We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Collections Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our collections department for a $300 million portfolio. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader who can manage, motivate, and mentor a team of collections specialists to meet and exceed department goals. This role requires a strong understanding of collections best practices, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining positive client relationships while minimizing financial risk.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience as a Collections Supervisor or in a similar leadership role, managing a large portfolio (preferably $45M+).
  • Deep knowledge of collections principles, regulations, and best practices.
  • Exceptional leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency with collections software and CRM systems.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor a team of collections specialists. Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Operational Management: Oversee the day-to-day collections activities, including account assignments and payment arrangements. Ensure all activities comply with company policies.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as delinquency rates, recovery rates, and team productivity. Develop and implement strategies to improve departmental efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Conflict Resolution: Handle escalated issues and complex accounts, negotiate difficult payment plans, and resolve disputes professionally and efficiently.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimize collections processes and technology. Implement new strategies to enhance workflow and improve outcomes.
  • Reporting: Prepare regular reports on collections performance for senior management, highlighting key trends and providing strategic recommendations.
  • Compliance: Maintain a thorough understanding of all collections laws and regulations, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). Support and ensure the team is familiar and adheres to all compliance requirements.
