Description
The Collector is responsible for working with members to negotiate satisfactory payment arrangements and maximize recoveries. This representative will manage a high volume of calls from members and external parties where they will collect and resolve charged-off loans and share accounts. This candidate should be comfortable meeting monthly collection goals. A Day in the Life of a COLLECTOR INCLUDES: Maximize recoveries and achieve a monthly assigned collection goal on charged off loans and shares. Manage a high volume of calls with members and external parties to collect and resolve charged-off loans and share accounts. Complete required maintenance to update reporting upon account resolution. Analyze settlement and loss-mitigation actions based on set parameters, escalating cases that fall outside approved guidelines. Perform deep skip-tracing, locate assets, and recommend legal action when appropriate. Identify errors and policy/procedural inconsistencies in loan/share records and take action to correct through escalating to internal associated parties. COLLECTOR Skills and qualifications include: 2 years of experience in consumer collections and skip-tracing required. Experience in a financial institution, collection agency, or law firm preferred. High school diploma or equivalent. Excellent oral, written, and telephone communication skills. Ability to collect, analyze and interpret financial data. Proficiency in MS Office including Outlook, Word and Excel required.
