Job Details Job Location: Madison, WI 53703 Position Type: Seasonal Education Level: Associates Salary Range: $16.50 - $18.50 Hourly Travel Percentage: Negligible Job Category: Entry Level Position Overview: Reporting to the program manager, College Access Mentors are classified as Limited-Term Employees. College Access Mentors engage with students during and after school in one-on-one and small-group mentoring sessions to promote strong study habits, emotional resilience, and college readiness. College Access Mentors are responsible for building strong relationships, leading workshops, supporting college access activities, and helping students navigate their academic and personal journeys. This role is ideal for college students, recent graduates, and emerging leaders who are ready to serve their community, grow as professionals, and make a meaningful impact in the lives of young scholars. Responsibilities Include: Provide support to program participants, offering regular check-ins focused on academic encouragement, time management, and socio-emotional development. Provide academic tutoring in core subjects during open study sessions Support Program Managers with after school programming and logistics. Track participation and engagement metrics in Salesforce; document general observations. Assist with setup, materials preparation, and attendance tracking for student events, field trips, and workshops. Serve as a positive role model and provide light mentoring, staying within boundaries of general motivation and encouragement. Distribute flyers and staff recruitment events (e.g., tabling) to help identify potential new program participants. Communicate logistical reminders to families (e.g., event times, permission slips); avoid communicating about student development or performance. Participate in team meetings and basic professional development sessions relevant to logistical or operational duties. Support supervision of students during transitions and designated program times under staff direction. Other responsibilities as assigned that support site operations and student engagement, without displacing instructional or advisory roles. Compensation & Benefits: This position pays an hourly rate of $16.50-$18.50 per hour. This position also provides 20 hours of floating holiday/break leave to be used during designated break windows as well as accrued paid sick leave in line with state requirements. Location: Work sites will be located on local middle school, high school, or college campuses.
