Description
We are looking for a College Admissions Counselor for an international school in Chengdu. This position is available starting in the 2026–27 school year (Fall 2026). About the school Located in a modern, high-tech district of southwest Chengdu, this spacious and well-equipped campus offers both international and bilingual curricula, serving students from Pre-K through Grade 11, with plans to expand to Grade 12. The area is known for its green spaces, easy access to the airport, and proximity to Chengdu’s rich cultural and culinary heritage, providing a vibrant and dynamic environment for both students and staff. About the role As the College Counselor you will lead a daily Grade 12 counseling workshop, prepare reports, and coordinate the Senior Research Project. Organize fall admissions visits and family info evenings, meet one-on-one with Grades 10–11, and guide applications, financial aid, and recommendations. Develop new initiatives, co-lead info sessions, and manage planning tools (e.g., Naviance) to help students and parents identify best-fit universities in the U.S. and beyond. Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to help students identify college and career goals; Assist with college selection, application processes, and interview preparation; Provide guidance on essay writing and application materials; Organize workshops and informational sessions regarding college admissions; Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to support students' academic and emotional needs Bachelor’s degree; master’s preferred Strong communication skills with parents and students Skilled in editing application essays Able to write persuasive letters of recommendation High GPA in major field Proven experience working with students and parents Salary and benefits Annual salary of 55,000 to 60,000 USD commensurate with experience and qualifications Monthly housing allowance of 3,500 RMB or free accommodation Fully paid summer and winter holiday Public holiday Free tuition for up to 2 children Flight allowance Finish contract bonus Annual bonus Commercial medical insurance
