POSITION SUMMARY

Instructor(s) play a vital role in the successful delivery of Academy Canada’s programs. This position is responsible for providing high-quality instruction to adult learners, ensuring that course content is delivered effectively and in alignment with program outcomes and regulatory requirements. The instructor will facilitate learning through lectures, discussions, practical activities, and assessments while fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an ECE
  • A certificate of diploma from an ECE program at a recognized college
  • A member of AECENL holding a minimum Level II certification
  • 6 years combined education and work experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A desire to work in a team environment

Preferred:

  • Level IV certification with AECENL
  • Instructional experience would be an asset
Responsibilities
  • Program preparation and delivery, including the development and/or maintenance of course portfolios and proper maintenance of a teacher planner
  • Completion of all preparatory work exclusive of regular student contact hours
  • Maintain student records/files as per College policy
  • Conduct and record student evaluations, both academic and practical
  • Properly maintain current student attendance records and report concerns
  • Monitor student progress and ensure that administration is made aware of any student concerns in a timely manner. This may include accommodating special requests for students with identified learning disabilities
  • Properly manage student grades
  • Attend scheduled meetings, and instructor in-service training sessions (please note that these meetings may be held outside of regularly scheduled hours)
  • Maintain a professional demeanor at all times
