POSITION DESCRIPTION

The University of Guelph, Ridgetown Campus invites applications for a fixed term part-time College Lecturer, teaching in the Horticulture Associate Diploma Program. This position is covered by the University of Guelph Faculty Association (UGFA) Unit 2. This appointment will begin at the end of August 2025 and will end in December 2025. The position is based at the Ridgetown Campus, in the municipality of Chatham-Kent, 200km southwest of the University’s main campus in Guelph

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • An undergraduate degree in a related field with a minimum of three years of work experience. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field may be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience in the safe operation and maintenance of horticultural equipment including small engines, lawn equipment, shop and construction tools, chainsaws and/or skid steers.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to develop presentations for diploma students.
  • An ability to incorporate relevant, practical and applied experiences into teaching methods.
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office and internet applications.
  • Demonstrated record of diplomacy, teamwork, and time management.
