Description
Lead the overall operation of Colony Pool and set the tone for a safe, organized, and welcoming summer experience. The Pool Manager oversees daily operations, staff leadership, safety compliance, and program delivery while ensuring high standards aligned with YMCA values. WHAT YOU’LL DO: * Oversee daily pool operations, including opening and closing procedures * Ensure compliance with state and local health and safety regulations * Coordinate scheduling for lap swim, recreational swim, lessons, and events * Supervise, train, and support lifeguards and seasonal aquatic staff * Create staff schedules and maintain appropriate safety coverage * Lead staff meetings, in-services, and emergency drills * Monitor pool conditions, chemical logs, and facility readiness * Respond to incidents and member concerns professionally * Maintain accurate records for attendance, incidents, payroll, and certifications * Foster a positive, family-friendly pool environment THIS JOB IS FOR YOU IF: * You’re a confident leader who takes ownership of operations * You’re comfortable supervising and coaching staff * You stay organized and manage details well * You prioritize safety and enforce standards consistently * You communicate clearly with staff, members, and leadership * You’re want to run a full summer operation, not just work shifts QUALIFICATIONS: * High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred * Prior lifeguard and aquatic supervisory experience required * Strong leadership and organizational skills * Required certifications (or ability to obtain): * Lifeguard * CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer * First Aid * Lifeguard Manager or equivalent * CPO Certification * Knowledge of state and local aquatic safety regulations * Proficient with basic computer applications WORKING CONDITIONS: * Flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays * Extended time on pool deck * Lifting up to 50 pounds * Exposure to chemicals, water, and outdoor weather * Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergencies
