Description Position Summary: The Combi-Lift/Straddle Carrier Operator is responsible for preparing and moving tanks and enclosures for generator assembly. Essential Functions: The Combi-Lift/Straddle Carrier Operator is responsible for preparing and moving tanks and enclosures for generator assembly. Ensure proper load securing and weight distribution to prevent tipping or shifting during movement. Follow all safety protocols related to lifting capacity, visibility, and operating on uneven terrain Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Participate in safety drills and training sessions as required. Conduct daily equipment inspections and safety checks prior to use, including brakes, steering, hydraulic systems, tires, and warning devices. Qualifications: Completion of any required training and certification programs for combi-lift or straddle carrier operators. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or maneuver heavy materials and rigging components weighing up to 50 lbs., using proper lifting techniques and mechanical aids when appropriate. • Ability to stand, walk, climb, or sit for extended periods, including on hard, uneven, outdoor, or elevated surfaces. • Ability to navigate inclines, ramps, steps, ladders, platforms, and variable terrain while maintaining balance and awareness of load positioning. • Ability to reach, bend, crouch, stoop, and perform repetitive motions while securing rigging, inspecting loads, adjusting equipment, or assisting with staging tasks. • Ability to operate large industrial lifting equipment requiring precise hand–eye coordination, depth perception, and fine motor control. • Ability to work safely around moving machinery, suspended loads, pinch points, and tight maneuvering areas, maintaining full situational awareness. • Sufficient visual acuity to judge distances, monitor gauges, read load charts, verify clearances, and safely operate equipment. • Ability to tolerate prolonged exposure to outdoor environments, including sun, heat, cold, wind, and variable weather. Working Conditions: Work is performed in a mixed outdoor and manufacturing environment with frequent exposure to heat, cold, rain, wind, and direct sunlight. Operators work around large steel tanks, enclosures, rigging equipment, overhead cranes, forklifts, and moving production traffic on concrete yards, gravel or dirt surfaces, inclines, ramps, uneven ground, and tight maneuvering areas. The role involves exposure to loud noise, vibration, dust, fumes, airborne particles, hydraulic equipment, and industrial byproducts, all within OSHA-permissible exposure limits. Situational awareness is critical due to suspended loads, vehicle traffic, and active rigging operations. Required PPE includes steel-toe or composite-toe footwear at all times, with additional PPE such as high-visibility apparel, gloves, eye protection, and hearing protection based on task and hazard assessment. OSHA-compliant equipment training is provided, and all established rigging, load-handling, and operational safety protocols must be followed.
