Description

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a Procurement Coordinator who will support the Category Buyers in leading the development, execution, and ongoing management of effective procurement strategies with regards to service performance, quality, cost, innovation, sustainability, and governance. This is a critical role within the Commercial Management team which provides commercial and procurement services to the EirGrid group.
Reporting to the Lead Vendor Manager – the Category co-ordinator will also work alongside a team of professionals who provide procurement expertise to the business.

In this role you will:

  • Review all purchase requisitions raised by the Group on the Enterprise Resource Planning system (Dynamics AX) for accuracy and completeness ensuring all required backup is attached.
  • Set up new suppliers on Dynamics AX and deal with related queries.
  • Create and issue purchase orders for all EirGrid Group companies through Dynamics AX.
  • Be the initial point of contact for supplier queries.
  • Take responsibility for all procurement card purchases and report monthly on activity.
  • Daily review of the procurement email inboxes, responding to queries where possible and escalating as necessary.
  • Support the manager in producing monthly, quarterly and annual management reports and other ad hoc duties as required.
  • Support the procurement team in providing professional procurement expertise to deliver key business objectives (cost, delivery performance, risk mitigation, innovation, etc.)
  • Lead training of PO and PR raising to new starters in the organisation

About You

  • Qualification in supply chain management and/or procurement or a similar discipline.
  • 2 years’ experience within the Procurement field.
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate, influence and collaborate with key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of purchasing tools, platforms, and processes.
  • Experience of using Dynamics AX or other finance/accounting system.
  • Ability to work to strict deadlines with confidentiality and discretion.
  • Good organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Good customer service experience with the ability to deal with challenging customers.
  • Experience in the use of MS Office suite.
  • Knowledge of utilities and/or experience of public sector tendering is highly desirable.
