OVERVIEW

We are seeking a passionate and creative Comic and Manga Teacher to inspire and educate children in the appreciation and practice of visual storytelling. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in drawing, illustration, and digital art, with a particular enthusiasm for comics and manga. This role requires someone who can foster creativity, imagination, and critical thinking while creating a supportive and engaging learning environment.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Strong knowledge of illustration techniques, both traditional and digital.
• Excellent communication skills to convey artistic concepts clearly.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students of diverse ages and backgrounds.
• Patience and adaptability in teaching methods to suit different learning needs.
• Organisational skills to manage materials, lesson planning, and classroom activities.
• A degree in Fine Arts, Illustration, Education, or related field is preferred (but not essential).
• Previous teaching or workshop experience is an advantage.

• Develop and deliver lesson plans tailored to a range of skill levels and learning styles.
• Teach core artistic techniques in drawing, inking, character design, storyboarding, and visual storytelling.
• Introduce students to the history and cultural context of comics and manga.
• Encourage students to create original works and support them in building portfolios.
• Assess progress through projects, class participation, and presentations.
• Organise student showcases or exhibitions to celebrate creativity and achievement.
• Collaborate with other educators to integrate comics and manga into cross-disciplinary projects.
• Provide constructive, encouraging feedback to nurture confidence and artistic growth.
