Job Description:
Position Purpose summary:
The Youth Worker is responsible for the coordination and facilitation of Community Alternatives for Youth Programs focusing on Community Reintegration and Outreach in St Thomas and Elgin County and supporting Extra-judicial Sanctions and Direct Counselling and Youth Justice Conferences in St. Thomas.
Accountabilities
Program (35 hours per week)
Act as an advocate for Youth and their families
Volunteers/Student Placements
Mentor and support student placements.
Agencies and Community Resources
Work as an advocate for Youth with Community agencies including Police Services, Crown, Mental Health, Probation, Education, Justice Sector, Housing, etc.
Administration
Complete monthly submission of Salvation Army – SAMIS statistics.
Health and Safety:
Perform other position related duties as required.
