We have an exciting opportunity for a a Command & Data Handling Engineer on the Boeing Engineering and Technical Services (BETS-SWS) contract located in Houston, TX.

Responsibilities:

The Command & Data Handling Engineer will:

  • Work as a member of the International Space Station (ISS) team with focus on the Command and Data Handling (C&DH) system. Under the direction of technical lead engineers, this person will accomplish the following:
  • Gain an in depth knowledge of the C&DH Subsystem, components, architecture, and communication protocols
  • Perform investigation, analysis, testing and troubleshooting of on-orbit hardware and software problems
  • Assist the cognizant engineer in the technical oversight of the supplier technical teams and monitoring suppliers’ performance. Assists in the preparation and/or review of supplier requirements, plans and schedules
  • Assists in the review and disposition of supplier contractual data
  • As-required, support requirement verification and validation for interface of new ISS Payloads (science experiments) to the C&DH Subsystem on-orbit. Will be assisting with traceability and test analysis, writing test plans, conducting testing, performing analysis, and documenting results
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • BS or BA degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Science, Math, or related field from an accredited college or university and 5+ years of experience or any equivalent combination of education/experience

OR

  • BS or BA degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Science, Math, or related field from an accredited college or university and 10+ years of experience or any equivalent combination of education/experience

OR

  • BS or BA degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Science, Math, or related field from an accredited college or university and 15+ years of experience or any equivalent combination of education/experience

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.
