About the role An exciting new opportunity has become available to join AGL’s Origination team in the Energy Markets & Development division. We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Commercial Advisor to oversee the Origination team’s commercial contracts. With the support of the Senior Manager, you will implement and manage AGL’s structured agreements across the electricity, carbon and gas portfolios. You will also manage relationships with counterparties, market operators, and internal stakeholders, and address any contractual issues and queries as they arise. Key responsibilities Manage existing and future agreements in the structured power, environmental products, gas and carbon portfolios, including Government agreements in relation to AGL assets. Assist with negotiation, execution, and management of International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) Master Agreements with Trading counterparties. Manage the contract lifecycle, including implementation, milestone tracking, monitoring deadlines, and ensuring compliance with the contractual terms and conditions. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and company policies, including Origination contract input into AGL’s compliance and reporting processes. Mitigate contractual risks, enforce contract terms and resolve conflicts where breaches/non-compliance occur. Assist with the negotiating and drafting of contract amendments or other legal documentation as required. About you You are an experienced Advisor with exceptional attention to detail, with a strong ability to interpret complex contracts and understand key commercial terms. You have outstanding presentation, communication and interpersonal skills enabling you to build strong internal and external relationships at all levels. You are also proactive and keen to identify and solve problems, while working across a large number of contracts and collaboratively across teams. In addition to the above, the following will be highly regarded: Relevant tertiary qualification, such as a degree in commerce, engineering, law or other relevant degree. Knowledge of contract law, legal terms and conditions, and compliance requirements. Understanding of energy markets (gas, electricity and carbon), including technical aspects. Understanding of commercial analysis related to contract terms. Ability to use and navigate complex excel spreadsheets. If any of this sounds like you, we’d love to see your application.
