Description

Position Title: Commercial Agronomy & Field Systems Lead
Location: San Francisco, CA with frequent travel (~30%)
Type: Full-time
Ohalo is hiring a Commercial Agronomy & Seed Field Systems Lead to build and operationalize the field systems that make true potato seed successful at commercial scale. This is a hands-on, field-forward role focused on creating commerciallyviable agronomic systems and stewarding early adopter farmers from planting through harvest. You will own all field trial execution, regional adaptation work, and grower-facing enablement, and serve as the bridge between breeding, commercial, and seed technology teams.
You are the company’s agronomic systems expert — owning the design and validation of in-field protocols and leading commercial readiness on-farm.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years in agronomy, field trials, or seed-based cropping system design
  • Demonstrated success in building and scaling new agronomic protocols
  • Deep knowledge of seeding systems, crop establishment, and large-scale field ops
  • Strong experimental design and in-season trial management skills
  • Effective communicator across growers, scientists, and commercial partners
  • Direct-seeded crop experience preferred (e.g., potatoes, onions, leafy greens, carrots, strawberries)
The anticipated pay range that we reasonably expect to pay for this role is $120,000 - $175,000 for San Francisco, CA. Individual compensation is based on various factors including experience, education, skillset, and other relevant qualifications.
