EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Academic degree within finance. Finance Degree/ Postgraduate/MBA
  • 5-7 years of business experience, 3-4 years’ experience from commercial finance roles. It is not required for the ideal candidate to have experience from the Packaging industry
  • Experience in consulting and/or advisory roles is a plus

FUNCTIONAL / TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Proven ability to manage and drive commercial finance with particular abilities on business support, reporting and controlling
  • Strong business acumen and proven ability to extract and communicate insights according to their relevance for different stakeholder levels
  • An analytical, independent and methodical financial and commercial business partner
  • A resilient and persuasive change agent with effective communication skills and strong personal impact and integrity
  • A pragmatic, positive personality, with a proven ability to intelligently operate and navigate in a multinational corporation with hands-on attitude
  • Comfortably operating in dynamic environments where priorities must be regularly reassessed to manage different tasks in parallel
  • Proven ability to deal with stakeholders on senior management level and internal customers
  • Very strong skills in relevant productivity tools MS Excel and PowerPoint, PowerBI, Salesforce, SAP, E1. Strong slide writing skills
  • Very good command of English, both written and spoken. Additional languages are a plus

Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

The overall goal of the Commercial Excellence team is to drive profitability through disciplined sales pipeline management, pricing and tendering processes, policies and programs. In this team, the Commercial Analyst must co-ordinate and lead the development and implementation of commercial analytics processes across the FP (Food Packaging) business, extract relevant insights and consolidate meaningful reports for senior leadership forums up to Board level. The role will also provide support to the FP Senior Commercial Directors and the Senior Commercial VP.

TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify margin and profitability enhancement opportunities across the regions – in close collaboration with the FP Sales teams – seek and identify improvement opportunities in customer profitability, transaction profitability and pricing execution
  • Provide transparency on where and how the FP Sales teams deliver (and lose) profitability –help analyze and understand margin (CM1 and CM2), by customer and product line and develop effective margin tracking mechanisms that provide focus on key areas of opportunity or risk
  • Facilitate and support the provision of insight and pricing analysis in respect of new business opportunities and existing business, including performance against target profitability levels
  • Analyze the profitability of the FP customer portfolio and segment portfolio together with the FP Segment Sales teams and identify margin enhancement opportunities
  • Establish and manage performance monitoring and control of the FP commercial performance. Identify potential challenges, opportunities and variations from budgets and business plans and support the Sales team in the development and implementation of any necessary corrective actions to improve margins
  • Support the increase of commercial margin enhancement capabilities in FP in collaboration with the FP Commercial and Finance communities
  • Support the development, implementation and execution of margin enhancement best practice and processes in FP sales
  • Streamline reporting processes in the FP Commercial function, pro-actively provide relevant insights to the FP Senior Commercial Directors and the Senior Commercial VP, and consolidate meaningful reports for senior leadership forums up to Board level
  • Provide ad-hoc analyses and reports on FP commercial performance to the FP Senior Commercial Directors and the Senior Commercial VP, and senior leadership forums up to Board level
