Commercial Asset ManagerSydney or Melbourne

This is an opportunity to move beyond traditional engineering and play a key role in the commercial management, performance optimisation and value maximisation of critical energy infrastructure.

The OpportunityReporting into the Asset Management team, the Asset Engineer will be responsible for driving the commercial and operational performance of renewable energy assets throughout their lifecycle. The role will focus on contract management, asset optimisation, financial performance, contractor accountability and strategic asset initiatives that maximise revenue, minimise risk and enhance long-term asset value.

  • Key ResponsibilitiesLead the commercial performance monitoring of wind, solar and battery assets, identifying opportunities to improve revenue, availability and overall asset value.
  • Manage O&M contractors and service providers, ensuring contractual obligations, KPIs and performance guarantees are achieved.
  • Analyse operational and financial performance data to identify optimisation opportunities, reduce costs and improve returns
  • Support asset budgets, forecasts, business cases and financial reporting activities.
  • Review, negotiate and manage operational contracts, scope changes, claims and contractor performance.
  • Drive asset performance improvement initiatives through collaboration with operations, trading, technical specialists and external partners.
  • Support lifecycle planning, reliability programs and major maintenance strategies to protect long-term asset value.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, contractual and operational obligations while maintaining asset risk and compliance frameworks.


  • About YouDegree-qualified Engineer or similar technical background.
  • Experience in renewable energy, power generation, utilities, infrastructure or asset-intensive industries.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing contractor performance, service agreements and asset-related contracts.
  • Proven ability to use operational and financial data to drive asset performance and business outcomes.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence both technical and commercial audiences.
  • Experience with asset management systems, CMMS, Power BI, SCADA or similar platforms is highly regarded.
