Description JOB SUMMARY The primary role of the Commercial Bus Salesperson is to expand the market penetration of Blue Bird and Micro Bird buses in non-school bus applications. SUPERVISION Direction- the Commercial Bus Salesperson will use the guidelines established by the Director of Sales to attain specific goals related to commercial bus sales. The progression of achieving goals as well as the results of work done are regularly reviewed by the Director of Sales. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Solicit colleges & universities, county and local transit agencies, hotels/motels and any other commercial bus operator. Actively “cold call” accounts. Consult with the Director of Sales and Sales Manager to devise pricing strategies based on market conditions. Demonstrate products directly to customers at their locations. Participate in all appropriate sales and product training as directed by the Sales Manager or Director of Sales. Attend all necessary trade shows and events to grow our market share. OTHER DUTIES Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements REQUIRED EXPERIENCE Minimum of 3 years experience in a bus, specialty vehicle or commercial truck sales environment. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/ABILITIES Obtain and understand technical information and possess sufficient knowledge to identify, document and correct any sales issue. Ability to travel throughout territory. Exhibit good organizational skills and detailed record keeping (attention to detail is critical). Meet reporting deadlines. Ability to work independently, accomplishing the goals of the position. Demonstrate the ability to accomplish multiple responsibilities simultaneously. Ability to travel on a flexible schedule as needed, proof of liability and property damage insurance on any vehicle used is required. Possess valid NYS Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or have the ability to obtain one within 12 months of employment
