COMMERCIAL COORDINATOR ENGINEERING
As our company grows and develops, we are ever expanding our teams. We have a great opportunity for a dedicated Commercial Coordinator to join our Building & Real Estate Division and wear the SOCOTEC badge with pride.
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented professional to drive the commercial strategy of the business, ensuring profitability, sustainability and growth. This role plays a critical part in coordinating business development, bid management, contract negotiations, client relationship management and financial planning to maximise revenue and margin.
This person will unify the approach to multi-disciplinary and framework bids, lead the bidding process and ensure a good quality and compliant submission.
The tasks you will undertake will include (but are not limited to):
- Develop and implement commercial strategies in line with company goals and objectives.
- Identify market opportunities and lead initiatives to secure new business.
- Manage bids and tenders from inception to completion, collating technical input from the team and completing the non-technical sections of proposals.
- Oversee the preparation and negotiation of contracts, ensuring compliance and risk management.
- Monitor and analyse performance metrics to inform commercial decisions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including finance, sales, marketing, and operations.
- Support preparation of budgets, forecasts, and reports to support strategic planning and decision-making.
- Ensure projects and sales align with profitability targets and company standards.
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to stay ahead of market developments.
- Work with the marketing team to utilise advertising vehicles and improve the Engineering Team section of the website.

To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred
- Construction-related experience required (including consultancy, engineering, QS, bids, project management, commercial)
- Proven experience (typically 3+ years) in a commercial sales or financial role
- Strong understanding of financial principles, budgeting and contract law
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with business management software (e.g. CRM, ERP)
