Description Position summary: The Commercial Collector will facilitate collections from the aged accounts of KHSA's customer base; review creditworthiness of customers to determine risk involved in extending credit and consistently apply KHSA's credit policy. Essential functions and responsibilities: Perform collections by contacting select customers, either by telephone or email, in a professional manner while keeping and improving customer relations. Will have authority over accounts with balances up to $250,000.00 Communicate throughout the day with Credit team members on account status and any on-going issues. Run aging sheet weekly and document collection efforts; provide Credit Manager a monthly report. Outlining status and effort Negotiate payoff terms in case of delinquencies. Process credit card and ACH payments for prepay customers Has authority to release or not release pending orders that flag for credit review. Make recommendations to the Credit Manager about strategy and options regarding whether to increase, adjust, extend, or close lines of credit. Discuss sales term issues with Sales department management. Exercise authority on early pay and any other discounts up to 2%; authorized to extend discount period. Has authority to suspend required payments during an invoice dispute. Undertake document preparation. Investigate billing disputes and follow up with customers. Maintain regular job attendance; days of work are Monday-Friday; 8-hr. workday schedule. Nonessential functions: Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned. Success factors/job competencies: Ability to prioritize work throughout the workday, exceptional time management skills. Sound judgment in applying discounts and making other credit-related decisions. Requirements High school diploma or a state-approved high school equivalency diploma 2+ years’ experience in collections and/or work in a credit department Experience in using Microsoft Office Suite or related software in work settings. Qualifications desired: Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field and/or certifications from the National Association of Credit Management Previous work experience analyzing credit risks. Demonstrated work experience collecting accounts with balances up to S250,00.00 SAP software experience
