POSITION OVERVIEW:

As the Commercial Construction Estimator/Project Manager, you will be engaged in business development, estimating, purchasing, project setup, ongoing project management and project closeout. You will also work closely with team members and participate in meetings, and work with the Office Manager on project accounts receivable and accounts payable actions.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Formal Education in Construction Field Preferred (Building Science or Construction Management Degree)
  • Minimum of 10 years in commercial construction
  • Lead a Department or Worked as an Turnkey Estimator for a Commercial General Contractor
  • Start as an Estimator to learn systems, policies, clients, and repeat subcontractors
  • Redstone Arsenal access is a plus
  • Project Management Skills
  • OSHA 30 Certification is preferred
  • Bilingual is preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands, walk, and use stairs. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities
  • Business Development for commerical construction projects
  • Maintaining/nurturing designer relations with architects and engineers
  • Building new client relationships
  • Estimating for commercial construction contracting projects using standard estimating templates following estimating procedure, soliciting and preparing bid submission documents based on specifications
  • Managing Project Startup including bonds, insurance, estimate preparation and reviews, creation of new project, schedule management, SOV set up, and billing and purchasing
  • Ongoing Project Management Activities including working with team members, managing changes/pricing (RFIs and addendums), tracking costs, submitting change/work orders, scheduling meetings, and preparing general correspondence
  • Project Closeout including requesting and completing the final punch list, finalizing contract amounts, reviewing w/management, and closing out with subcontractsAccounts Receivable/Accounts Payable
