QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A High School diploma or GED is required
  • Willingness to complete company-sponsored training
  • No experience in the construction industry - On-the-job training available!
  • Basic use of hand and power tools, material handling, and construction math and measuring are preferred but not required

Responsibilities
  • Assist in installing ceiling or floor tile, wall coverings, siding, glass, or woodwork within structures
  • Assist in erecting steel components for custom-engineered metal buildings and installing insulation, wall panels, and roof panels
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and clean jobsite and maintain tools provided by H.A. Dorsten
  • Help equipment operators, carpenters, and other skilled labor when necessary
  • Remove damaged or defective parts or sections of structures and repair or replace them using basic hand tools
  • Perform basic skills including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, painting, caulking, framing, light demolition, and general clean-up
  • Prep construction sites by clearing obstacles and hazards
  • Load or unload construction materials
  • Remove, fill, and compact earth
  • Dig and clean out trenches and backfill holes
  • Follow instructions from Superintendents
  • Assist craft workers
  • Install traffic control devices
  • Assist with building forms, pouring, and finishing concrete
  • Ready to learn from on-the-job training when necessary
  • Perform site clean-up
  • Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment
  • Other duties as assigned
