About the Role We are seeking an experienced Commercial Content Manager to lead the strategic and commercial development of a legal content portfolio across the Pacific. This is a key role with responsibility for portfolio performance, team leadership, partnerships and licensing, and content expansion. You will own the end-to-end lifecycle of legal content initiatives — from identifying market opportunities and building business cases through to delivery, go to market support and ongoing optimisation. The role plays a critical part in ensuring the ongoing commercial viability and expansion of a mature legal content portfolio; with a strong focus on customer needs, portfolio performance, and future focused content development in an evolving, AI-enabled environment. Reporting to the Head of Core Product, Pacific, this is a permanent full-time role-based in either Australia (Sydney or Melbourne preferred) or New Zealand (Auckland or Wellington) with combined home/office-based arrangements to have flexible work-life balance. About the Team You will lead a specialist content team responsible for developing and enhancing an expansive legal content portfolio. The team works closely with Editorial Operations, Sales, Marketing, Product, Customer Engagement and external partners, and is deeply involved in shaping how legal content is developed, positioned and brought to market. As a people leader, you will be responsible for: Leading and developing a team of content professionals Setting clear direction and priorities across multiple initiatives Coaching the team on stakeholder engagement, commercial thinking and delivery excellence Identifying and implementing operational best practices, with a focus on developing an AI-enabled team and processes This is not a first-time manager role — the team requires a leader who is confident making decisions, managing complexity and driving performance. Responsibilities Own and drive the commercial strategy and performance of a legal content portfolio Lead and develop a team responsible for content development and delivery Build and approve business cases, including assessment of revenue, risk and strategic value Identify and progress partnership opportunities, licensing arrangements and external stakeholder relationships Support go-to-market initiatives and sales enablement activities Engage with customers to understand needs and translate insights into content strategy Guide content initiatives to ensure readiness for evolving technology and AI-enabled delivery Requirements Proven experience leading teams within publishing, information services or legal content environments Strong commercial acumen with experience managing portfolios and budgets Confident people leader with experience driving performance and making complex decisions Demonstrated ability to manage senior stakeholders and external partners Background in legal, tax or professional publishing is highly regarded Work in a way that works for you We promote a healthy work/life balance across the organization.
