WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

• Law degree (or equivalent) with extensive commercial contract experience
• Proven commercial management expertise and strong contract administration knowledge
• Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder engagement skills
• Strong analytical abilities, capable of interpreting and presenting data and developing strategies
• PFI contract management experience, including regulatory and legal obligations
• In-depth understanding of contract law and its practical application

ABOUT THE ROLE

Role: Commercial Contract and Legal Manager
Location: Hybrid, Barnsley, S75 1JN (min. 2 office days per week)
Salary: circa £58,000, depending on experience
Role Type: Permanent, Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week

As our Commercial Contract and Legal Manager, you’ll play a vital role in the Commercial Team, driving the successful delivery of the PFI agreement. Your responsibilities will include contract management, ensuring compliance and providing expert guidance on contractual obligations. You’ll also assess and manage commercial risk, handle compensation claims and develop strategic approaches to optimise financial outcomes for the business.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

• Manage compensation claims under the PFI agreement to maximise financial outcomes
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance
• Identify and manage commercial risks, minimising potential issues for the business
• Advise stakeholders on contract obligations and ensure compliance with corrective actions
• Oversee contract management, including audits, reporting, document handling, and client meetings
• Develop exit plans for the PFI agreement to reduce financial and commercial risks
• Support the Senior Commercial Contract and Legal Manager when needed
