Contracts and Commercial Specialist
About the Role:
AGL is seeking a Contracts and Commercial Specialist to manage contract administration and negotiation, supplier relationships, and procurement activities at our Macquarie site. This role ensures optimal value from contracts and vendor partnerships, providing exceptional support to site contract owners in delivering services and goods. As a key member of the procurement team, you’ll be instrumental in creating and interpreting commercial contracts, ensuring all corporate governance policies and procedures are upheld and allow for clear and transparent communication with our vendors, particularly our top tier.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide commercial contract leadership and advice to business stakeholders.
- Facilitate the management and strategic direction of maintenance and service contracts.
- Collaborate with Legal and Commercial teams to negotiate and support contract interpretation to achieve agreed contractual outcomes.
- Mediate Business Contract Owner and Vendor disputes.
- Manage contractor performance and relationships.
- Assist the Procurement team in drafting terms and conditions.
- Handle escalations and navigate complex conversations with top-tier companies.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualifications in contract/business law are highly desirable (note: this role does not provide legal advice).
- Demonstrated experience in contract administration, management, and supplier relationship management.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Experience in procurement activities, including sourcing, tendering, awarding contracts, and dispute resolution.
- Ability to build and nurture relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in interpreting and applying policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Sound understanding of Australian contract standards and practices.
- Experience producing reports of commercial data, including comprehensive tracking registers.
- Well-developed commercial acumen, negotiation, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
