About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Commercial Cook to join our production team in a busy condiments manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head Chef to prepare, cook, and process high-quality products according to company recipes, food safety standards, and production schedules. Attention to detail, reasonable maths is essential

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

Commercial Catering or equivalent experience.
Experience in food production, or manufacturing environments.
Knowledge of food safety standards and HACCP procedures will be of advantage.
Ability to follow recipes and maintain consistent product quality.
Attention to detail is a must and must be physically fit to handle a fast-paced environment, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Flexibility to adapt to changing production needs.
Numeracy and literacy is essencial.

SUMMARY

We are seeking an Assistant Chef to join our dynamic team in the heart of our kitchen. This role is essential in supporting our culinary operations and ensuring that we deliver exceptional organic meals that align with our values of health and sustainability. The position is based in the UK.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist and shadow the Head Chef with daily production of condiments, pastes, and specialty sauces.
Measure, prepare, and cook ingredients according to standardised recipes.
Operate commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
Maintain accurate production records, including batch tracking and quality checks.
Follow strict food safety, hygiene, and allergen control protocols.
Be flexible to work with in our team which may mean, assisting with packaging and labelling as required.
Clean and sanitize kitchen and production areas in line with HACCP and company standards.
Support stock rotation and inventory management.
Collaborate with the team to meet production targets and timelines.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals according to recipes and standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Ensure all food safety protocols are followed diligently.
  • Collaborate with the head chef to develop new menu items.
  • Support meal preparation for events and daily service.
  • Participate in inventory management and ordering supplies as needed.
  • Assist with training new kitchen staff as required.
  • Contribute to a positive team atmosphere.
  • Qualifications
  • Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen setting.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and practices.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Previous restaurant experience is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Passion for organic and gluten-free cuisine.
