Empowering Creativity Through Universal Simulation The company is seeking a Commercial Counsel to join its growing legal team and help shape the legal frameworks of the rapidly evolving generative AI landscape. This early, high-impact role will lead commercial contract negotiations, support product development, and build scalable legal processes to guide Runway’s global growth. In this position, you’ll partner cross-functionally with sales, partnerships, product, and marketing teams to provide practical legal advice across commercial, privacy, and product counseling domains. You’ll negotiate strategic B2B SaaS agreements, develop contract templates and playbooks, and help implement Runway’s legal tech infrastructure. The role also includes advising on data privacy, intellectual property, and regulatory matters tied to cutting-edge AI products. The ideal candidate has 6+ years of experience in commercial and product counseling, including work with B2B SaaS agreements and, ideally, privacy or partnerships. A J.D. and bar admission in good standing are required, along with strong business judgment, operational excellence, and enthusiasm for the legal and ethical dimensions of generative AI.
