JOB SUMMARY:

This role provides credit analysis and risk management for new and existing business members, including partnership with Commercial Lenders in managing risk of the commercial loan portfolio. Performs credit analysis and assesses risk for borrowing relationships to make loan approval recommendations regardless of size or level of complexity. This role ensures credit analysis compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to monitor borrower and portfolio health on an ongoing basis. Additionally, this role provides guidance for Problem Loan Monitoring and analysis of future repayment risk, and mentorship for less experienced analysts.

Essential Functions:

  • Independently interpret credit and lending policies to prepare written credit presentations and approval recommendations, providing a detailed analysis of borrower’s repayment capacity and project risks on loans ranging from $ 1 million to $30 million in size, with an emphasis on more complex loan structures.
  • Participate in collaboration on structure for proposed loans and recommend structure improvements.
  • Independently prepare and analyze financial spreads and relevant financial information to assess borrower’s ability to repay existing loans and new loan requests using key financial metrics and documentation.
  • Analyze and evaluate financial capacity of borrower and loan guarantors, including preparation of global cash flow analysis.
  • Research & evaluate borrower’s background, management capability, industry position and competitor’s strength.
  • Produce written and detailed credit risk analysis recommendations in a clear and concise manner for appropriate audience commensurate with risk and policy/procedure guidelines.
  • Active participation in industry trade groups relevant to Wings’ commercial portfolio.
  • Participate in organizational initiatives such as M&A due diligence and NCUA examination, as assigned.
  • As directed, provide subject matter expertise and department representation to organizational projects and initiatives.
  • In partnership with Manager, provide growth opportunities and task mentorship for Commercial Credit Analysts I and II.
  • Continuing education and networking throughout the year to gather knowledge of changing industry trends that impact risk to Wings and borrowers. Complete all applicable compliance training and/or sales tutorials within established timelines.
  • Attend Business Loan Review Committee meetings to assist commercial lenders with new credit request presentations and annual credit reviews.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College degree in relevant field required.
  • Minimum 5 years satisfactory work experience with commercial credit analysis, or other relevant experience demonstrating increased levels of accountability and knowledge required.
  • Experienced and proficient in the use of financial spreading and analysis software, with preference for experience using the nCino platform.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industry trends and monitoring tools/techniques, with a preference for active participation in market/industry trade groups.
  • Understanding of problem loan workout and monitoring techniques, with an ability to successfully partner with lenders to guide process and solutions.
  • Experienced and proficient in Microsoft Office products, including: Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to independently apply analysis techniques for debt service coverage, guarantor strength, collateral value, sensitivity analysis, and industry/market analysis.
  • Ability to assess risk accurately and recommend loan structure improvements.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required, particularly in writing for an executive audience; must accurately and thoroughly be able to reflect credit risk analysis recommendations in a clear and concise manner.

    Pay Range: $82k-$104k plus 15% annual target bonus. The estimated hiring range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and other job-related reasons.
