Coles is seeking a Commercial Development Manager to join our Better Buying team, driving transformation and store development initiatives that deliver real value.   As a Commercial Development Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role in identifying and implementing commercial outcomes that drive incremental EBIT, reduce COGS, and unlock strategic investment opportunities. You’ll partner with category teams, influence stakeholders, and lead governance across key commercial processes.   You’ll also: Deliver commercial outcomes through category/supplier P&L analysis and trade plan recommendations Govern Joint Business Planning (JBP) and Business Development Planning (BDP) processes, ensuring alignment and timely execution Translate complex data into actionable insights using tools like Power BI and BIW to support negotiations and unlock value Develop compelling commercial narratives and support negotiations with scenario modelling and risk assessments Analyse and interpret category and supplier P&Ls to inform commercial decisions and support trade plan recommendations Lead scenario modelling, risk assessments, and negotiation strategy alignment to drive commercial outcomes     About you and your skills   The ideal candidate for the Commercial Development Manager role is a highly analytical and commercially astute professional with a consultancy background. They thrive in a cross-functional, stakeholder-rich environment and bring a strategic mindset to partnering with Business Category Managers (BCMs) and Commercial Managers (CMs), particularly in range analysis and commercial planning. Acting as a mini internal consultancy within Coles, they translate complex data into actionable insights, influence decision-making, and drive value creation across the Better Buying transformation agenda.   You’ll also have: Proven experience in consulting, strategy, or commercial development roles Retail/FMCG experience is essential Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data visualisation tools (Power BI, BIW) Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities A growth mindset and passion for continuous improvement  What’s in it for you?   Flexible working options: We know that work is only one part of your life, so we actively encourage a positive work-life balance and provide hybrid working options to help you achieve it.
