Job Description:
AXA Partners is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and results-oriented Commercial Director to lead our UK & Ireland business in the global markets sector. This is a unique opportunity to influence a prominent organization and deliver impactful solutions across roadside assistance, home emergency, and travel insurance.

POSITION OVERVIEW

As the Commercial Director, you will oversee end-to-end commercial strategies, foster key client relationships, and lead business development initiatives. Reporting directly to the Deputy Country Manager UK&I, you will be a vital member of the leadership team, responsible for driving growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction across our key markets.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Significant prior experience in a senior insurance or financial services role, ideally in a client-facing capacity
  • Demonstrated ability to lead strategic initiatives and drive business growth
  • Knowledge of industry regulations, compliance standards, and customer development strategies
    As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute comprehensive commercial strategies aligned with company growth objectives
  • Lead and manage teams responsible for new business sales, account management, bid management, and client communications
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, brokers, and partners to enhance collaboration and drive business growth
  • Identify and explore new market opportunities, staying ahead of industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive activity
  • Collaborate with underwriting, product development, marketing, and finance teams to optimize offerings and strategies
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and sales pipelines to meet or exceed targets
  • Build compelling propositions for prospects and existing clients, supporting cross-sell and upsell initiatives to maximize revenue and profitability
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies, promoting a culture of conduct and risk awareness
  • Represent AXA Partners at industry events, conferences, and meetings to strengthen brand presence and market leadership
  • Lead efforts to deliver consumer duty outcomes, ensuring activities promote positive customer experiences and meet regulatory standards
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and commercial excellence, supporting organizational transformation initiatives
  • Actively participate in governance and risk committees, ensuring responsible and ethical business practices

What you’ll bring:

  • Extensive experience in insurance or financial services, with a proven track record in business development and client management
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to guide and motivate diverse teams
  • Demonstrated success in developing growth strategies and action plans that achieve revenue and profit targets
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, capable of building lasting relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Deep understanding of the UK & Ireland regulatory environment and compliance requirements
  • Analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret market data and financial reports to inform strategic decisions
  • Strong commercial acumen, with experience managing budgets and financial forecasts
