This position is a hybrid field-and-shop role, supporting both active diving operations and the maintenance of diving and life support systems. It is ideal for a commercial diver who values technical competency, equipment reliability, and safe, repeatable operations. Position Overview The Commercial Diver / Shop Technician supports underwater construction, inspection, and maintenance activities while also maintaining, inspecting, and servicing life support and dive equipment. This role requires a safety-focused, mechanically inclined diver who is comfortable working both in the field and in a shop environment. Key Responsibilities: Field / Diving Responsibilities Perform traditional commercial diving tasks in support of marine construction, inspection, and maintenance projects. Set up, operate, and break down dive stations and associated traditional dive support equipment. Execute underwater construction, inspection, maintenance, and repair activities in accordance with approved dive plans and project requirements. Follow all applicable safety standards, including ADCI and EM-385 requirements. Support dive supervisors and project teams with safe and efficient field operations. Shop / Technical Responsibilities Inspect, test, maintain, and service diving and life support equipment. Perform routine preventative maintenance and assist with equipment repairs. Maintain organized, compliant, and inspection-ready dive systems and tooling. Assist with mobilization and demobilization of dive equipment for projects. Identify equipment issues and communicate repair or replacement needs. Requirements Qualifications Required Minimum 2 years of commercial diving industry experience. Demonstrated ability to perform all traditional commercial diving tasks. Experience setting up and supporting traditional dive stations and equipment. Current ADCI Commercial Diver Certification. Ability to qualify as a diver under an EM-385 Dive Plan. Ability to successfully complete the Coastal Engineering Diver Checklist. Valid boat operator license. Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience maintaining diving and life support equipment. Strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and professionalism.
