ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Installation or Maintenance
• 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
• City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/2395 (Inspection and Testing) – desirable
• Proven experience in commercial electrical maintenance (3+ years preferred)
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Full UK Driving Licence
• Able to pass MOD security clearance checks

JOB PURPOSE:

To provide high-quality electrical maintenance and support services within a commercial and MOD (Ministry of Defence) environment at RAF Benson. The role includes planned preventive maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, testing and inspection, and minor installation work across various buildings and facilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Carry out electrical maintenance, fault finding, and repairs on commercial installations
• Perform planned preventive maintenance (PPM) as per schedules
• Conduct electrical testing, inspections, and produce relevant certification (e.g., EICRs)
• Respond to and resolve reactive maintenance issues in a timely manner
• Install and modify electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, and control systems
• Ensure all work complies with current IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) and health & safety legislation
• Work collaboratively with other engineers and contractors on site
• Maintain accurate records of work completed using site CAFM systems
• Participate in on-call rota and respond to out-of-hours emergencies when required
• Liaise with site staff, clients, and MOD personnel in a professional and effective manner
