Environment Bank is a market-leading organisation in a sector that’s experiencing rapid growth. We’ve already built a highly skilled team of experts and we’re actively looking to expand our team in the coming months. We’re incredibly proud of all we achieved so far and we’re still growing. If you'd like to be part of a driven organisation that's making a real difference, find your next role with the team at Environment Bank. About the role The Commercial Finance Manager will be responsible for maximising the performance and profitability of each site (habitat bank) in their portfolio, as measured against the investment business case. Pre-onboarding involvement: Engage early in the onboarding process of new habitat banks with the Land and Ecology teams to ensure accurate market demand and supply assumptions, positive financial viability tests and a deliverable sales cycle for the habitat bank. Performance optimisation: Regular monitoring and reporting of the performance of each live habitat bank. Ensure underperforming sites are acknowledged early with remedial actions to deliver maximum value. Business partnering: Be a trusted point of contact for stakeholders across the business, communicating site performance, delivering engaging reporting and actionable insight leading to improved commercial outcomes. Budgeting & forecasting: Utilise financial modelling skills and knowledge of FP&A principles to turn internal and external data sources into forecasts of future demand for biodiversity units, in addition to producing P&L and cash flow projections. Cross functional alignment: Maintain transparent and consistent working approaches between Land, Ecology, Sales, and Finance, creating positive feedback loops to inform strategies for land acquisition, supply coverage, pricing, and sales. Ad hoc commercial analysis: Conduct ad-hoc financial modelling and scenario analysis to influence decision making, with an emphasis on providing commercial insight to the Sales team. Price setting: work with colleagues to set location specific pricing, factoring in variables such as scarcity, demand, local competition and ecological value. EDI & Belonging At the heart of Environment Bank are the people, who make it all possible. We employ individuals, who share the same passion to live our Environment Bank mission and values. We are committed to creating an environment where everyone is valued and respected, free from discrimination based on race, religion, sexual orientation, age, marital status, disability, gender identity or expression, or any other legally protected status. Communication: An excellent communicator. Experienced at capably engaging with diverse internal and external stakeholders. Analytical skills: Ability to model and interpret complex market data, demand trends and financial forecasts to inform strategic decisions. Forecasting and budgeting: Confident in leveraging FP&A expertise to produce P&L and cash flow forecasts and provide support in budgeting cycles. Financially astute and Commercial acumen: Strong understanding of pricing, market positioning and revenue optimisation strategies.
