Description Commercial Finish Carpenter Department: Technical Division - School Facility Management, LLC Reports To: Director of Field Operations Employment Type: Hourly (Non-Exempt) Location: Roaming role servicing client sites throughout the Greater Nashville, TN area Compensation: Starting at $28/hr - DOE Schedule: Monday through Friday, typically 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a 30-minute unpaid break. Occasional weekend work and overtime may be required based on project scheduling needs. Job Summary: This full-time Commercial Finish Carpenter position involves building custom cabinetry and shelving, installing millwork and finish trim, and performing various renovation tasks, including drywall installation, repair and finishing, general painting, drop ceiling installation, etc. The ideal candidate will have strong carpentry skills, excellent customer service abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work. Job Responsibilities: Build and install custom cabinetry, shelving, and finish trim with precision and attention to detail. Refinish and stain woodwork to achieve professional, high-quality finishes. Perform a variety of renovation tasks, including drywall repair and installation, painting, drop ceiling installation, tile work, and metal stud and wood framing for decks, fences, and other structures. Read, interpret, and follow blueprints, drawings, and project instructions accurately. Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe, clean, and organized manner. Collaborate with clients and team members to ensure project expectations, timelines, and quality standards are met. Deliver high-quality workmanship on every project, ensuring durability, precision, and client satisfaction. Safely work on tall ladders and lifts; obtaining a work lift certification is required. Personal Competencies: Ability to price estimates for customer approval (drawing up construction plans a plus) Effective verbal and written communication skills. Organized and able to utilize smartphone technology for project management. Basic computer skills for research, communication, and recordkeeping. Ability to work as part of a team or independently on multi-day projects. Requirements Qualifications: Minimum of 3 years of experience in carpentry or related trades. Valid driver’s license and insurable to operate a company vehicle. The ability to pass a criminal background check is required for work in educational facilities with children present. Must be able to work in a smoke-free environment. Physical Requirements: Approximately 60% outdoor and 40% indoor work, often requiring long periods of standing. Comfortable working on lifts, scaffolding, tall ladders, and in crawl spaces or confined areas. Able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds without assistance.
