COMMERCIAL GAS ENGINEER (WITH PLUMBING SKILLS)

Location: Wakefield Office (mobile role – travel to client sites)
Hours: 40 hours per week, within 7:00am – 6:00pm core hours
Pay: Door-to-door + overtime & on-call enhancements
About the Role
My client is looking for an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join their mobile team. The role is primarily focused on commercial gas installation, service, and maintenance, but also requires flexibility to carry out general plumbing works when required.
You’ll be based from the Wakefield office, travelling to client sites in a company van. With door-to-door pay, your travel time is fully covered.

What You’ll Do

  • Install, service, and maintain commercial gas systems (boilers, pipework, heating systems, etc.).
  • Respond to breakdowns, diagnose faults, and carry out efficient repairs.
  • Support plumbing works including installs, maintenance, and repairs of water, drainage, and sanitary systems.
  • Work from technical drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Participate in the on-call rota for emergency cover.
  • Ensure compliance with Gas Safe, health & safety, and relevant regulations.

What We’re Looking For

  • ACS Commercial Gas qualifications (COCN1, CODNCO1 or equivalent).
  • Valid Gas Safe registration.
  • Proven experience in commercial gas service, maintenance, and installs.
  • NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing (or the ability to carry out plumbing works confidently).
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
