We’re looking for a Commercial Insurance Account Manager to join our growing team and play a key role in servicing and expanding our commercial book of business. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in doing things right, thinks critically, and enjoys working collaboratively in a relationship-driven agency environment. What You'll Do Client Service & Risk Management Serve as a primary point of contact for commercial clients, responding to coverage, billing, and claims inquiries. Deliver, explain, and review new and renewal policies, ensuring clients understand their coverage and options. Educate clients on policy terms, endorsements, and risk management considerations. Intake and process First Notices of Loss and guide clients through claim procedures while providing advocacy support. Carrier & Underwriter Relationships Build and maintain strong working relationships with carrier underwriting teams. Align account placements with carrier appetite and underwriting guidelines. Prepare and submit required applications, forms, and documentation to bind and issue policies. Stay current on carrier products and participate in ongoing training opportunities. Business Development & Marketing Support Assist with pre-renewal strategy, including exposure analysis and quote indications. Review renewal terms for changes in pricing, limits, and coverage forms. Market accounts to alternative carriers when appropriate and present quote options. Identify opportunities to round accounts and cross-sell additional products. Conduct client interviews to assess exposures and develop tailored insurance programs. Support the Commercial Lines Manager with business development and growth initiatives. Stay informed on industry trends, market conditions, and coverage developments. Administrative & Policy Management Manage surplus lines placements, including quotes, affidavits, invoicing, and compliance. Issue certificates of insurance, binders, endorsements, and policy changes. Evaluate exposures and identify potential coverage gaps. Coordinate payment plans and premium financing arrangements. Maintain accurate, organized, and compliant client records. Agency Projects Participate in agency-wide initiatives and assist with special projects as needed. Education & Experience Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial lines account management or a related role. Active Massachusetts Property & Casualty Insurance License (required). College degree (preferred). Professional designations such as CIC or CISR (preferred). Proficiency with Microsoft Office and agency management systems such as AMS360 or Applied Epic. Strong customer service mindset with the ability to build and maintain client trust. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities. *This position is eligible for a hybrid working arrangement: 3 days per week in office (Harwich Port, Wellfleet or Provincetown, MA) and 2 days working from home.* *The salary range provided reflects what we expect to pay for this role at the time of posting.
