ABOUT PREMIERE:

The Premiere Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Commercial Insurance & Underwriting Analytics Manager to join our team. This pivotal role functions as a subject matter expert and strategic partner, responsible for analyzing and optimizing all Commercial lines of insurance across our portfolio of companies. You will ensure proper coverage, quantify risk, and strategically leverage reinsurance and capital structures to protect our entities.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned commercial lines professional with a strong foundation in underwriting and data-driven risk analysis. This role requires an individual who is adept at interpreting complex insurance programs, eager to understand the financial mechanics behind capital structures, and driven to implement solutions that enhance our financial performance through technical expertise.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

  • Experience: Proven experience in a commercial insurance role, with a strong background in commercial underwriting, lines analysis, or risk management.
  • Technical Acumen: Deep knowledge of Commercial lines of insurance, including policy language, coverage forms, and market trends.
  • Analytical Prowess: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial and loss data to identify risk and inform strategy.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex insurance and financial concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Drive & Initiative: Highly driven, proactive, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment. Eager to take initiative and solve problems.
  • Financial Curiosity: Strong interest in learning and understanding the financial mechanics of reinsurance and capital structures.
  • Certifications:


    • CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter) Certification is strongly preferred.

    • ARE (Associate in Reinsurance) Certification is a plus.
    • Data Skills: Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau is a plus.

    Responsibilities
    • Coverage and Exposure Analysis: Serve as the technical expert for all Commercial lines of insurance. Conduct in-depth analysis of existing policies and business operations to identify and quantify all exposures. This includes meticulously evaluating policy terms, conditions, and limits to ensure they align with our organizational risk profiles.
    • Data-Driven Risk Quantification: Interpret and investigate loss and expense data in connection with business operations. Synthesize these insights to identify correlations and develop data-driven recommendations that improve loss performance and deliver measurable financial impact.
    • Reinsurance Strategy & Support: Perform the analysis and due diligence required to support the placement of facultative reinsurance. Evaluate compliance with existing treaty reinsurance agreements and contribute analytical insights to optimize these structures.
    • Capital Structure Analytics: Conduct a thorough analysis of current insurance costs to identify opportunities for leveraging capital structures (including various buckets of capital with target returns). The goal is to provide the data and insights necessary for the most effective distribution of risk, with the willingness to develop strategic recommendations.
    • Underwriting Expertise: Apply a strong, hands-on background in commercial underwriting to evaluate coverage, assess risk, and inform strategic decisions, going well beyond standard treaty compliance.
    • Stakeholder Collaboration: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal business leaders, external brokers, and carriers. Serve as the technical resource who drives cross-functional change and measures the results of those actions.
    • Reporting & Communication: Develop and present clear, concise reports on risk exposure, program performance, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership, acting as a trusted advisor on all commercial insurance matters.
    • Compliance: Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all applicable industry regulations and ensure that our insurance programs and practices align with legal requirements.
