Job Description Viva Energy Australia is looking for a Commercial Lead – New Energies to join our team in a dynamic commercial role focused on driving the development and delivery of hydrogen and battery-electric customer solutions. This position is central to executing Viva Energy’s New Energies strategy and advancing our ambitions in the clean mobility sector. You’ll work closely with customers, contractors, OEMs, and government stakeholders, applying a commercially sustainable approach to accelerate the transition of Australia’s transport sector one of the largest contributors to national emissions. Responsibilities & Requirements Negotiate and manage customer contracts underpinning Viva Energy’s New Energies initiatives Oversee and manage maintenance contracts in partnership with technical specialists to ensure compliance, performance, and service quality Lead initiatives to drive customer demand and utilisation of Viva Energy’s New Energies infrastructure, while identifying and pursuing new revenue opportunities Engage and present to existing and prospective customers on Viva Energy’s zero-emissions projects, market insights, and future ambitions Support development of business cases and funding proposals for pipeline New Energies initiatives, including submissions, investment cases, and financing mechanisms Lead continuous improvement of operational metrics, identifying opportunities for capex and opex efficiencies across the portfolio Develop contracting and pricing mechanisms to support commercial objectives for all New Energies initiatives Drive integration with business-as-usual operations and collaborate on systems integration for both EV and hydrogen solutions, ensuring alignment with current business processes, contracts, and service providers Qualifications 3–5 years in Business Development or similar customer-facing roles Degree in Commerce or Business (preferred) Exceptional communication and presentation skills Strong customer focus and commitment to safety Proven contract negotiation and strategic relationship management experience Collaborative, detail-oriented, and analytically minded Agile and adaptable to the fast-changing zero-emissions market and ESG requirements Commercially pragmatic with a delivery-focused mindset Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and hit targets Knowledge of the electricity market is a bonus Additional Information We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and encourage and support diversity in our traditional and non-traditional roles. Responsibilities
